
Theo Matundura is the Managing Partner of T.M.M & Partners Advocates and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, overseeing the firm’s overall strategic direction and leading its Conveyancing & Commercial, Policy & Legislative Drafting, and Precious Metals & Minerals practice groups. He was part of the team that came up with the first draft of Kenya’s Virtual Assets Service Providers then Bill, currently and enactment of Parliament, and currently serves as Head of Policy at the Virtual Assets Association of Kenya (VAAK), representing the Association contributing to regulatory discussions on licensing frameworks, stablecoin and tokenisation policy, and capital adequacy requirements. Before entering private practice, Theo served as a Legal Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives, drafting national legislation across the agricultural sector. He also directs Sheria Online, contributing to its Access to Justice Project providing legal aid to accused persons and survivors of gender-based violence and offences. Theo is included on the local attorney referral lists maintained by the United States Embassy and the British High Commission in Nairobi, and is available to assist UK and US nationals with legal matters in Kenya.
