
Brian Maera is a Senior Partner at T.M.M & Partners Advocates and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, leading the firm’s Litigation, Data Protection, and Employment Law departments. His practice spans fintech, virtual assets, and anti-money laundering compliance advisory, and he advises clients on data protection compliance under Kenya’s Data Protection Act and the GDPR. Brian also supports the firm’s policy and commercial work, and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Association of AML Professionals in Kenya (AAPK), contributing to the development of AML/CFT compliance standards for legal and financial sector professionals. He previously served as a Legal Officer at the United Nations and as a Digital Policy Consultant at The Lawyers Hub Kenya, researching and publishing on digital trade and cyberspace regulation.
